McShane, Welsh honored as Eagle Scouts

CHADDS FORD — An Eagle Scout Court of Honor was held at the Chadds Ford Historical Society for two scouts from Troop 31 in Chadds Ford, PA. Sebastian H. Welsh,  and Connor G. McShane received the highest rank in scouting on Feb. 26 in front of a full house of family, friends and fellow scouts.

Sebastian’s Eagle project consisted of designing and constructing a utility shed on the grounds of the Barns-Brinton House in Chadds Ford. He worked closely with both Dr. George Franz, President of the Chadds Ford Historical Society and Architect, John Milner.

Connor’s project was to design and execute a new Pennsbury Township emblem in the form of a mural. He worked with Township Supervisor Aaron McIntyre to design a seal based on the Pennsylvania Flag. The painting is to be mounted in the Harris Room of the township building.

Both Scouts reside in Chadds Ford and are actively involved Seniors at Unionville High School. Both scouts plan to attend college in the fall of 2012.
