Avondale Borough invites the community to attend the official dedication ceremony for the Avondale Veterans Memorial on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Avondale Veterans Memorial Park on Pomeroy Avenue.
The ceremony will honor the men and women who have proudly served our nation and recognize the veterans from our community whose names are memorialized at the site. The program will include the Presentation of the Colors, National Anthem, prayers, wreath laying, reading of veterans’ names, raising of the flag, rifle detail, and the playing of Taps.
Community members, veterans, families, elected officials, scouts, and local organizations will join together in remembrance, gratitude, and respect for those who served.
Last year, Avondale Borough established the Veterans Memorial, but due to weather the dedication ceremony was postponed. The Borough is honored to officially dedicate the memorial this year and formally recognize the site as Avondale Veterans Memorial Park.
