Darcie Martin

The United Way of Southern Chester County (UWSCC) is proud to announce Darcie Martin as its new Chief Executive Officer. A nonprofit professional with two decades of leadership experience, Martin brings a proven track record of fundraising success, strategic relationship-building, and team development to her role.

As the former Deputy Executive Director of the Delaware Museum of Nature and Science, Martin led the $10 million Museum Metamorphosis capital campaign, overseeing the transformation of two galleries and the creation of eight interactive exhibits. Her ability to cultivate relationships with individual donors, foundations, and corporations has consistently translated into measurable success for the organizations she serves.

“Darcie’s extensive experience and passion for strengthening communities make her an ideal leader for UWSCC,” said Craig Blecher, Board President. “Her strategic approach to nonprofit leadership will be instrumental in addressing the evolving needs of Southern Chester County.”

Martin holds a master’s degree from Penn State University and a bachelor’s degree from York College of Pennsylvania, as well as certificates in Nonprofit Leadership from Duke University and Women’s Leadership from the University of Delaware. She is deeply committed to mentoring teams and fostering collaboration.

A resident of Hockessin, Delaware, Martin enjoys an active lifestyle with her husband, their fourth-grade daughter, and their beloved pets—a greyhound, two parakeets, and a fish. In her spare time, she volunteers with animal rescue organizations and enjoys outdoor activities such as running, biking, and swimming.

“I am honored to join United Way of Southern Chester County and excited to work with the board, staff, and community partners to strengthen this vibrant region,” said Martin. “Together, we can continue to make a lasting impact on the lives of those who call Southern Chester County home.”
