Chadds Ford pumpkin carve brings out the crowd

CHADDS FORD — As usual, this time of year, the grounds surrounding the Chadds Ford Historical society were packed as hundreds of local residents streamed in to see this year’s collection of amazing pumpkin carvings. The giant pumpkins — weighing between 150 and 400 pounds — are carved on site during the first night of the event — and the results, more than 60 brilliantly carved pumpkins remain on display for the public to see through the weekend.

Jessica Geftic and Eileen Berristein won most orginal for this carving of Ben Franklin.

Chris Belton won Carver's Choice for this amazing sculpture.

Laurie Ellis won honorable mention for this cobra in the best use of pumpkin category.
