Pocopson Founders Day set for Sept. 18

Kevin Delaney and the Pocopson Home Boys will be the featured music performers during Pocopson Founders Day.

POCOPSON — Pocopson Founder Day is on Sunday September 18th, from 12 noon to 4 PM at Pocopson Park on Locust Grove Road. The events and contests everyone enjoys will be back again this year including: the ride through by Radnor Hunt and Hounds, the donut-eating contest featuring excellent cider donuts from Northbrook Marketplace; the Supervisors cow-milking contest with Baily’s award winning cows; the dog-owner look-alike and dog high-jumping contests.

All events are free, courtesy of Pocopson Township and generous local sponsors. Live music will be provided all day by Kevin Delaney and the Pocopson Home Boys, and Hickory House will be back with tasty lunch selections.

The kids will have a ball with a full day of games, face painting, the moon bounce, pony rides and the petting zoo. New this year, is the traveling helicopter, Stubby! Children and adults can climb inside Stubby and enjoy the helicopter-cockpit experience. Avondale state police barracks is sending two of their finest to talk to kids and parents and do some children’s’ fingerprinting.

Volunteer for a few hours and then enjoy some time with your neighbors and friends. Call the township at 610-793-2151 to sign up.
