For participants in the 26th Annual Walk for Paws, a simple walk in the park will help save animals’ lives, organizers from the Chester County SPCA said.

This year’s event will combine the traditional walk with a family-friendly festival. It will be held on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hibernia Park, and all proceeds go to animals, programs and services at the Chester County SPCA, an independent, nonprofit that relies on donations.

Activities will include psychic readings with your pet, a scavenger hunt along the walk, a show by kids ‘comedian The Great Holtzie, a commemorative pet photo at the Pooch Smooch booth, canine contests, a search and rescue demonstration, low-cost micro-chipping and emergency veterinary care by Exton Vet, free nail trimming, face-painting, and more. A selection of adoptable animals will also be available.

Participants – all will receive a free t-shirt – can register online or in person starting at 10 a.m. on Sunday. Supporters are encouraged to form teams. Prizes will be awarded to the top individual fund-raiser, the top fund-raising team, and the top youth fund-raiser.
