Unionville stops Octorara, 8-4


Unionville’s Nick Ward helped spark the offense with a two-for-four day, a triple and a two runs scored.

EAST MARLBOROUGH — The Unionville High School baseball team opened up its Ches Mont American league schedule with a win over Octorara at home, Wednesday.

Senior Andrew Taylor pitched six strong innings giving up only two hits along the way, picking up his first win of the season.

Catcher Kyle Langerhans was 3-for-4 with a double and three runs scored. Nick Ward was 2-4 with a triple, two runs scored and two RBI. Andrew Jones and Drew Jarmuz both hit doubles. Kevin Looby pitched the 7th to earn the save.

The Indians (1-1) next game is Thursday  at West Chester East. Game time is 1 pm.
