Dominic S. Ferentinos (left) and Brenton M. Jacono of Boy Scout Troop 31 of Chadds Ford were elevated to the rank of Eagle Scout, at a Court of Honor earlier this month.

CHADDS FORD — Dominic S. Ferentinos and Brenton M. Jacono, were both awarded the highest honor from the Boy Scouts of America; Eagle Scout.  A ceremony was held on May 6 at Troop 31’s Court of Honor in Chadds Ford.  Troop 31 is of the Lenni Lenape District of the BSA Chester County Council.

Ferentino’s Eagle Scout project was completed at Chadds Ford Elementary School.  There, he cleared a stream area so the students could have easier access to study science units and he also constructed a  230-foot wooden post and rail fence to segregate the stream area/woods and the adjacent soccer field.

Jacono’s Eagle Project was at the Chadds Ford Historical Society Museum. Brenton upgraded the existing gravel entrance path, replacing it with a brick paver walkway.  This makes it much safer for visitors, especially the physically challenged and the elderly.

Ferentino and Jacono are both seniors at Unionville High School. Ferentino will attend Shippensburg University and Jacono Gwynedd-Mercy College this fall.
