EAST MARLBOROUGH — Timotha Trigg was unanimously reelected as president of the Unionville-Chadds Ford Board of Education Thursday night and Frank Murphy was elected as Vice President of the board during a brisk board reorganization meeting.

Trigg won by an 8-0 vote, winning the support of all directors at the meeting. Paul Price was not at the meeting. Murphy will replace Corrine Sweeney, who served a Vice President last year.

Holly Manzone was reappointed as the district’s representative to the Chester County Intermediate Unit. The board voted 8-0 to continue using The Daily Local News as its legal newspaper.

As board president, in addition to presiding over board meetings, Trigg will get to set the various committee assignments and chairs — although its expected that very few changes will be made. Those assignments will likely be revealed at the Dec. 13 board meeting.

Pat Clark, president of the Unionville-Chadds Ford Education Association — the teachers union — congratulated Murphy and Trigg, praised the continuity of leadership, but expressed hope that the union and district would be able to return to the negotiating table as soon as possible to continue talks on a new teachers’ contract.

Trigg pffered only the briefest of comments — as there seemed to be a general desire for the meeting to finish rapidly to allow people to watch the Philadelphia Eagles game.

“Thank you for your support,” she said, and then she accepted a motion to adjourn the meeting.
