STATE COLLEGE — Shane Austin of East Marlborough (Unionville High School class of 2010) helped lead Penn State to a 17th place finish at the 2012 NCAA Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships in Federal Way, Washington last week (March 22 to 24). Austin anchored both the 200-yard and 400-yard medley relays to 8th place finishes. The home-grown team of Nate Savoy (Reading), Mitch Sherer (Pottstown), Sean Grier (Hummelstown) and Shane Austin set the Penn State record in the 400 relay (3:07.62) and earned All American status for both relays in the process.
