Unionville High School’s girls rugby team was able to overpower Conestoga, 59-5, to earn a second straight match win, Sunday.

PENNSBURY — Combining a strong offense with a stifling defense, the Unionville High School girls rugby team won its second straight match, defeating rival Conestoga, 59-5, Sunday at Hillendale Elementary School.

The 2-1 Indians ran off the first seven tries in a dominating first half and then were able to contain a resurgent, but short-handed Conestoga squad in the second half. Unionville’s high-powered offense now has posted 129 points in its last two matches.

Next up for the Girls Varsity Team is White Horse Rugby club at home (Hillendale Elementary Field) on Sunday at noon.  The Boys Varsity Team, coming off a bye week, returns to action visiting Bishop Shanahan at 2:00p on Sunday.
