Historic Kennett Square is inviting area residents to see the light – actually lots of them – on Friday as the Annual Holiday Light Parade kicks off the season at 6:15 p.m.

Last year’s parade represented the debut of the illuminated floats, and this year’s entries have more than doubled, parade organizers said. In addition to the festively lit creations, carolers, dance troupes, clowns, mascots, and Kennett High’s marching band will proudly strut their stuff along State Street.

The parade will culminate with the arrival of Mr. and Mrs. Claus in a horse-drawn carriage to light the borough’s tree. Following the parade, children are invited to meet with the Clauses for photos and a treat. Plus, shops will be aglow and open for business.
