Seniors combine to lead Indians past Kennett, 43-28

EAST MARLBOROUGH — The Unionville High School girls basketball team finished the regular season Thursday night with a convincing senior led victory over Kennett 43-28 and now it will await its first match up in the District One playoffs, to be determined Sunday.

On senior night — the final regular season home game for the Indians — the teams’ four seniors (Jill Murray, Kelsey McDonald, Moira McEvoy and Susie Pancoast) combined to smother the neighoboring Blue Demons.  Pancoast led the parade with 19 points and 12 rebounds.  Murray hit an early three point shot to boost the indians to a 5-2 lead.  McDonald hit three consecutive baskets to help Unionville build a 27-12 half time lead. McEvoy had 7 rebounds to go along with her 2 points and 3 assists.

The Indians wrapped up Ches Mont American Division play with an 8-4 record and 13-8 record overall.  The team now awaits its first-round opponent in the district one playoffs which will be determined on Sunday.
