EAST MARLBOROUGH — Senior Andrew Taylor’s dominant pitching performance and some stellar team defense led the Unionville High School baseball team to a 1-0 win over arch-rival Kennett, Thursday.
Taylor pitched a gem, scattered five hits, while striking out eight along with no walks in a complete game performance. The Unionville defense was sharp behind Taylor making every play and committing zero errors.
The lone run in the game came when Andrew Jones scored in the third after reaching base on an error, a sacrifice bunt by Taylor, a base hit by Kyle Langerhans and a wild pitch. Kyle Fries was 2-for-3.
The Indians (6-2) moved to 6 – 1 in league play and play next on Monday at home against Avon Grove.
