Patton wrestlers complete 9-2-1 season

The Charles F. Patton Middle School wrestling team compiled a 9-2-1 record this season.

EAST MARLBOROUGH — The Charles F. Patton Middle School wrestling team ended the season with a 9-2-1 record, wrapping up one of the more successful seasons in team history.

The Hawks defeated Penns Grove, Great Valley, Fugett, Engle, Kennett, Chichester, Stetson, Octorara, and Lionville (first victory against Lionville in about 10 years) middle schools.  They tied the division leader South Brandywine Middle School (which was a merged team with both North and South Brandywine).  The team’s only losses were to Peirce and Downingtown.  The team was led by their eighth grade captains, Mitchell Camp, Sam Immediato, Laz Kirifides, and Drew Stradling and their seventh grade captain Jake Taylor.  The team was coached by Brian Huntoon and Joe Herman.

The squad wraps up the 2011-12 season with the league tournament to be held on Feb. 11 at Downingtown West High School.
