UHS Boys’ volleyball splits pair

The Unionville High School boys' volleyball team.

Unionville High School’s brand new boys’ volleyball team continues to enjoy a solid debut season, splitting a pair of contests this week, guaranteeing at least a .500 record in its first regular season.

Unionville 3, AI DuPont 1: Mark Leipold had nine digs and 16 kills to   pace the Indians to victory by scores of 25-11, 25-22, 22-25, 25-20 on  Monday, May 2.  Brian Bushelow dished out 25 assists and Jimmy Gill  added eight kills and four blocks.

Unionville 0, Haverford 3: The men’s volleyball team suffered a tough  loss to Haverford Thursday, May 5. The team fought hard but came up short on the score board.  Peter Clark and Rafael Pokorny both had career games for the Indians.  The team has an 8 and 6 record going into the last two games of the season.

Next up for the Indians is league rival Avon Grove at home on Monday, May 9.  Prior to the game, the team will hold a Recognition Ceremony  for the six seniors: Brian Bushelow, Mark Leipold, Peter Clark, Rafael Pokorny, Kevin Crawford, and Jeff Birkenmaier.
