Scheduled work includes Birmingham, Newlin, Pocopson and East, West Marlborough
Area roadwork has been scheduled this week, said an announcement on Friday, Dec. 20, from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT). PennDOT wants motorists to be mindful of possible delays.
Utility installation on U.S. 1 in Concord Township will result in lane closure between Brinton Lake Road and Rt. 322 through Jan. 17. The work will be done between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Utility installation will also delay traffic on West Baltimore Pike in New Garden Township from Thursday, Dec. 26, through Friday, Dec. 27. Lane restrictions will occur between Bancroft and Chambers Roads from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Slow-moving, line-painting trucks will be working on Monday, Dec. 23, and Tuesday, Dec. 24, as well as Thursday, Dec. 26, and Friday, Dec. 27, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The work is scheduled to include state roads in Birmingham Township, where crews will also be doing brush-cutting between Rt. 926 and Brintons Bridge Road from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the same days as the line-painting operation. Intermittent lane closures are expected.
Brush-cutting will also result in intermittent lane closures on Rt. 842 in both directions in East and West Marlborough, Newlin, and Pocopson Townships. The work will be performed Monday, Dec. 23, and Tuesday, Dec. 24, as well as Thursday, Dec. 26, and Friday, Dec. 27, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Vegetation removal will affect southbound U.S. 1 in Kennett Township between Parkersville Road and Rt. 52 during the same time period.
