Some of the teachers, administrators and staff at Charles F. Patton Middle School who helped to raise more than $1,000 for prostate cancer research by avoiding their razors as part of No-Shave November.

EAST MARLBOROUGH — Seventeen teachers and staff at Charles F. Patton Middle School helped raise more than $1,000 for prostate cancer research as part of No-Shave November — by avoiding the razor for the entire month.

As a result of the “hairy” experience, a total of $1,223 that will be donated for prostate cancer research. Each student who donated a dollar received a ticket with their name that they could put in a teacher/staff member’s bucket. At the end of the 25-day fundraising event, the teachers pulled a name from each bucket and that student got to design their new look.
