KENNETT — Mary Larkin Durgan be talking about the Underground Railroad in the Kennett area this Saturday, Feb. 12, at 11 a.m. at the Visitors Center of the Chester County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Many know the building as the old Longwood Progressive Meeting, just outside Longwood Gardens’ parking lot, 300 Greenwood Road.
The talk will feature Larkin and talk about local stops on the path to freedom for slaves in this immediate area, as well as some thought-provoking questions and maybe some leads to UGRR houses in our area. There’ll be refreshments, too, provided by Mushrooms Café.
