CONCORD – Rep. Stephen E. Barrar will host his annual Health and Safety Fair on Sat., April 13, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“This is a great family-friendly event,” said Barrar.  “It is a convenient way for people to gather information about local health and safety services.  We also will have plenty here for the kids.”

The event will be held at the Brandywine Youth Club, O’Donoghue Field House, located at 41 Thornton Road in Glen Mills (Route 1, north of Route 202 in Concord Township).

As in years past, the Health and Safety Fair will feature representatives from state and local government agencies, area nonprofit organizations and other local service providers.  Participants will be able to receive blood pressure screenings, health assessments and balance tests.  There will also be free face painting and refreshments.

“This year we have added some new attractions to the event,” said Barrar.  “Along with several special performances, we also will have a service to fingerprint children and provide child identification cards to parents.”

Barrar noted the Pennsylvania National Guard, Concordville Fire Company and 9-1-1 Emergency Mobile Unit will participate in the Health and Safety Fair.

Performances will include jazz dancing, Irish dancing, a K-9 unit demonstration, an anti-bullying presentation and many others.

RSVPs are not necessary for this event, but individuals who have a question may call Barrar’s office at (610) 358-5925.

Along with the various organizations participating, co-sponsoring the event are Exelon Generation, Comcast and Aqua.
