Unionville baseball takes down East, 9-2

WEST CHESTER — Behind a strong defense and some smart, aggressive base running, Unionville baseball rolled to a 9-2 victory over West Chester East, Thursday.

Matt Foster pitched six strong innings, giving up only two runs. Kyle Fries came on in the 7th to close out the game. Drew Jarmuz, Fries, Nick Ward, Kyle Langerhans and Foster all had two hits to lead a balanced Indians (2-1) attack. The defense was led by the middle infield combination of Chris Koehler and Nick Ward who teamed up for three double plays on the day.

Unionville’s next game is a home game on Monday, hosting Coatesville.
