EAST MARLBOROUGH — Unionville High School announced Wednesday that 13 students have been named as National Merit Semifinalists in the 58th annual National Merit Scholarship Program.

These academically talented UHS seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for National Merit Scholarships worth more than $32 million nationwide, which will be offered next spring.  The nationwide pool of Semifinalists, representing less than one percent of U. “We are incredibly proud of the accomplishments of our 2013 National Merit Semifinalists,”  said Unionville principal Paula Massanari.

The scholars are as follows: Jack Bubes, Katherine Jin, Brian Leipold, Hannah Nam, Alexander Peterson, Meghan Shea, Steven Silverman, Kristin Smith, Ashish Streatfield, Beck Tuvesson, Emily Winn, Marina Wright and Jacqueline Xu.
