Nixon Park. A new slate of music acts is planned for various Wednesday evenings this summer.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>KENNETT \u2014 There is a great peace and tranquility that comes from sitting back on a lawn chair or stretching out on an old family blanket under the stars and enjoying an outdoor concert.\u00a0\u00a0 Once again this summer, Anson B. Nixon Park presents its Wednesday night concert series.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Enjoy this slice of small town life, beginning June 13<sup>th<\/sup> through August 8<sup>th<\/sup>.\u00a0 The concerts start at 7:00 pm and are free of charge.\u00a0 Bring your own picnic or purchase a light supper from one of the local restaurants each week.\u00a0 La Michoacana Ice Cream and Liz Marden Bakery will be selling summer treats, as well.<\/p>\n<p>The schedule is as follows:<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>June 13:\u00a0<\/strong> The Chesapeake Brass Band is a British-style brass band with 35 professional and amateur musicians.\u00a0 The brass and percussion ensemble performs a varied repertoire of contemporary and traditional brass band music ranging from classical, marches and jazz to pop, rock, and blues.\u00a0 The Hadley Memorial Fund sponsors this concert.\u00a0 Supper is provided by Floga Bistro.<\/p>\n<p><strong>June 27:<\/strong>\u00a0 The Dan May Band performs pop songs with a folk twist. \u00a0\u00a0Hailing from Drexel Hill and now nationally recognized, Dan May&#8217;s lyrics, melodies and music will stay with you long after his show.\u00a0 Supper is provided by Jake\u2019s Wayback Burgers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>July 4<\/strong>: Billy Walton Band will celebrate Independence Day with New Jersey Shore-style rock and roll. Supper will be available from Enzo\u2019s Pizza.<\/p>\n<p><strong>July 11:<\/strong>\u00a0 Brooke Shive and the 45s\u00a0\u00a0 plays the blues with a rock\/soul influence plus a little bit of country thrown in with powerhouse vocals ala Janis Joplin. \u00a0Supper is provided by Byrsa Bistro.<\/p>\n<p><strong>July 18:<\/strong>\u00a0 The Large Flowerheads\u00a0 invite you to take a Groovy Trip back to the &#8217;60s. \u00a0They recall the 60s with their Paisley shirts and Nehru jackets and they sound like the bands of that era, with some real dancing music.\u00a0 Supper is provided by Country Butcher.<\/p>\n<p><strong>July 25:<\/strong> Joe Baione Quartet\u00a0\u00a0 Jazz vibraphonist Joe Baione has a passion for all things jazz with his powerful and energetic performances.\u00a0 He has made his mark on the jazz scene, including opening for the legendary Dave Brubeck. \u00a0Supper is provided by La Verona Restaurant.<\/p>\n<p><strong>August 1<\/strong>:\u00a0 JD Malone\u00a0\u00a0 Singer\/Songwriter &amp; Rock-n-Roll philosopher JD Malone writes songs that are true and brings to mind Bruce Springsteen &amp; The E-Street Band if they played country music\u00a0 with a little bit of soul.\u00a0 Supper is provided by El Ranchero Mexican Restaurant.<\/p>\n<p><strong>August 8<\/strong>:\u00a0 Cabinet\u00a0 weaves bluegrass, country and folk influences to a powerful effect.\u00a0 Supper is provided by Portabello\u2019s Restaurant.<\/p>\n<p>The concerts are held rain or shine.\u00a0 Anson B.
