Third annual fundraising event features food and fun for the entire family<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Unionville Elementary students, parents and even Superintendent of Schools Dr. John Sanville helped to make hundreds of meatballs Wednesday during preperations for Saturday night's Third Annual Pasta Dinner.<\/p><\/div>\n

EAST MARLBOROUGH \u2014 Come hungry and ready to have a great time!<\/p>\n

The Unionville-Chadds Ford School District will host the Third Annual Family Pasta Dinner to benefit the United Way of Southern Chester County on Saturday evening.<\/p>\n

The dinner takes place from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Unionville High School cafeteria. Tickets can be purchased at the door, or for a discount, online<\/a>.<\/p>\n

And for the third year, the Unionville Elementary STARs for Service did their part and made over 1300 meatballs for the event.\u00a0 The children and their parent volunteers, Melissa Scott and Sharon Hower, worked along side District Superintendent John Sanville scooping and rolling tray after tray of meatballs.<\/p>\n

Other children from the District\u2019s elementary schools got involved as well.\u00a0 Dozens wrote essays and made posters with the theme, \u201cThink globally, act locally, what does this mean to you?\u201d\u00a0 The posters will all be on display the night of the dinner and several of the essays chosen by District administrators will be read by the children that night.<\/p>\n

Student volunteers from Unionville High School\u2019s National Honor Society will also be lending a hand running arcade games, handing out prizes, serving food, and selling cookies.\u00a0\u00a0 They will be joined by adult volunteers from across the community.<\/p>\n

And while dinner is being served, attendees will be treated to all sorts of entertainment.\u00a0 The Center Sounds will be playing the old standards from the 20\u2019s to the 40\u2019s.\u00a0 The Caroling Strings will be showing off their talents as well.\u00a0 And popular high school bands, Think September and Tuesday Night will be on stage as well.<\/p>\n

Or course, what\u2019s a family event without a photo?\u00a0 LifeTouch photographers will be on hand through the evening to capture the moment.\u00a0\u00a0 As bidders peruse the over 70 silent auction items they can take a moment to gather their friends and family together for a quick photo.<\/p>\n

This night promises to be a true community gathering and because the donations will be distributed by the United Way of Southern Chester County, all proceeds from the night will stay in the community.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
