State Sen. Dominic Pileggi<\/p><\/div>\n

HARRISBURG \u2014\u00a0 PEG PAC, the affiliated political action committee of the Pennsylvania Business Council (PBC), today announced its endorsement of the re-election of Senator Dominic Pileggi in Pennsylvania\u2019s 9th Senate District, which includes portions of Chester and Delaware Counties.\u00a0 In announcing its endorsement, the pro-business group highlighted Senator Dominic Pileggi\u2019s support of a free enterprise, job-creating agenda in the Pennsylvania Senate.<\/p>\n

\u201cThroughout out his career, Senator Dominic Pileggi has worked to improve the overall tax and businesses climate in the Commonwealth that is crucial to enabling companies to compete on a global scale and create jobs for Pennsylvania residents,\u201d said David W. Patti, PBC president & CEO who first worked with the lawmaker when Pileggi served as the Mayor of the City of Chester.<\/p>\n

Patti cited Senate Majority Leader Pileggi\u2019s record of fighting efforts to increase the size, scope and cost of government; and his leadership against proposals to expand business taxes.\u00a0 He said Pileggi supported the 15 year transition to deregulated electricity generation that has meant lower energy prices for Pennsylvanians, worked to improve the state\u2019s Hazardous Sites Cleanup Fund for industrial communities like Chester, and fought for the Water and Sewer System Assistance Act that provided $400 million to Pennsylvania for the reconstruction, rehabilitation, extension, and expansion of water and sewer systems.\u00a0 Just last year, said Patti, Pileggi ensured that joint and several liability reform legislation cleared the Senate and made it to Governor Corbett\u2019s desk to be signed into law.<\/p>\n

\u201cSenator Pileggi knows that competitive tax rate, free market public policy, and a fair legal system form the foundation for a strong business environment that will enable our job creators to grow and flourish,\u201d commented Patti.<\/p>\n

Patti also praised Pileggi\u2019s work to increase openness and transparency in government \u2013 rewriting the state’s 50-year-old Open Records Law, and reforming Senate Rules.<\/p>\n

In recent weeks, Pileggi\u2019s provided strong leadership on passage of legislation extending and expanding the state\u2019s Keystone Opportunity Zone program which will encourages business investment in distressed areas of the Commonwealth.<\/p>\n
