A monogram can make something more than special: it can make it yours<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>I was born and raised in Delaware County.<\/p>\n

However, I firmly believe that I was a Southern belle in a past life.<\/p>\n

And, I know this because I love to use the word \u201cy\u2019all\u201d.<\/p>\n

And, I will buy any item of clothing with a polka dot, bow or sparkle on it.<\/p>\n

And, most importantly, if it\u2019s not moving, I\u2019d like to monogram it.<\/p>\n

Seriously.<\/p>\n

Thankfully, I can successfully achieve this goal by going to the cutest little boutique EVER in Greenville, DE called \u201cThe Pink Turtle<\/strong>\u201d.\u00a0 They have a HUGE selection of all things \u201cpersonalized\u201d!\u00a0 It is a Southern girls dream.<\/p>\n

Necklaces, cell phone covers, note cards and luggage tags, dishes and serving trays, trashcans and wellies!\u00a0 BE STILL MY HEART.<\/p>\n

Carey and Christine (the owners) are fantastic at helping to select the perfect pattern and color scheme to suit the most discriminating monogram obsessed gals in town (a.k.a\u2026my high maintenance friends, you know who you are, who enjoy personalizing pretty much everything they own\u2026not that there\u2019s anything wrong with that)<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a>In fact (don\u2019t get jealous), I just ordered my custom cell phone case and a large tortoise shell monogram pendant the other day.\u00a0 It will take roughly three weeks to come in\u2026and, because it is personalized, no one can \u201cborrow\u201d it.\u00a0 So, there.<\/p>\n

If you have a friend or family member getting ready to welcome a new baby, I have another precious option in the world of \u201cpersonalized\u201d gifts.\u00a0 My friend, Christi Lewis has a business called \u201cSpoken in Stitches<\/strong>\u201d (like her on Facebook for updates and new products!!)<\/p>\n

Bibs and burp cloths, tote and duffle bags, towels, pillows and teddy bears. You name it.\u00a0 It can be personalized.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a>If the child does not have a \u201cMonogram Appropriate\u201d name like: \u00a0Alexa Simone Smith, for example\u2026<\/p>\n

(I\u2019ll give you a moment to process\u2026..)<\/p>\n

Get it?<\/p>\n

You can always do the full name or a big initial and it would be adorable.<\/p>\n

Did you know that monogramming has rules of etiquette?<\/p>\n

It\u2019s true!<\/p>\n

For a couple, the monogram would be the bride\u2019s first initial, the initial of the surname, followed by the groom\u2019s first initial.<\/p>\n

For a woman, the monogram would be the first initial, the initial of the last name and then either the middle name or maiden name initial (if the woman is married).<\/p>\n

For a man, the monogram would be in the order of first, middle, last name initials.<\/p>\n

For a baby (either male OR female) the initials would be first, last name, middle name until the boy gets older, in which case it will revert to a \u201cman\u2019s\u201d monogram order.<\/p>\n

Fascinating, huh?<\/p>\n

Well, maybe just to born-again Southern peaches, like myself.<\/p>\n
