Unionville High School seeks book donations for annual Used Book Sale<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

While the 2011 Used Book Sale was a big success, donations of used books and videos are needed to ensure that the 2012 version is even more successful.<\/p><\/div>\n

EAST MARLBOROUGH \u2014 At the end of January, the quietness which typically fills Unionville High School at \u00a0the end of the school day will be filled with the bustling activity of parents and students moving and sorting endless boxes of books.<\/p>\n

A team of parent and student volunteers will be carefully checking thousands of books, sorting them according to genre, and pricing them for sale at Unionville High School\u2019s Annual PTO Used Book Sale.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s book sale will take place on Friday evening, February 24 and Saturday, February 25 in the gymnasium of Unionville High School, 750 Unionville Road, in Kennett Square.<\/p>\n

Although the book sale is a month away, collection for books is right around the corner.<\/p>\n

On January 28, UHS student volunteers will pick up used books placed on the driveways of neighboring communities as part of its Neighborhood Book Collection Drive. \u00a0Those communities were notified of the collection day through a flyer sent in the mail. If you have questions as to whether your community is on the list for book donation pick-ups, email\u00a0collectiondaydriver@uhsbooksale.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n

You may also drop off your books to UHS on January 28, between 9:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Books can be dropped off on the lower cafeteria level, near the kitchen entrance. Simply look for the “Book Drop” signage. High school students will be available to assist you with carrying your donations from your car.<\/p>\n

Book collection continues January 30 through February 22, where you may drop off used books in all Unionville-Chadds Ford School District schools.\u00a0 All schools will contain marked boxes for book drop-offs in the lobby areas.<\/p>\n

Donations accepted include paperback and hardback books, audio books, and DVD\u2019s, VHS, and music CD\u2019s\u00a0 with their original labels. All items must be in good condition.<\/p>\n

The UHS Used Book Sale offers over 80,000 books in a variety of genres for young and old alike. From topics ranging from cooking to history to popular fiction and non-fiction books, the book sale offers something for everyone. Prices range from 50 cents to $4 for some hardback books.<\/p>\n

Proceeds from the book sale go directly to the high school PTO\u2019s General Fund which supports many grant projects and enrichment projects at UHS.<\/p>\n
