Autism Awareness Month, which began with early efforts in the 1970s and later evolved into Autism Acceptance Month, continues to inspire organizations around the world to promote education, advocacy, and community engagement.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Throughout April, DASD schools will host a variety of activities that encourage students, families, and the community to learn, engage, and celebrate. Highlights include a visit from Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Darius Cooper, who will speak with elementary students about kindness and acceptance. Schools across the district will also host spirit weeks, and West Bradford Elementary will create a mural titled <i>\u201cAcceptance is Always in Bloom,\u201d<\/i>\u00a0reflecting the school community\u2019s commitment to celebrating neurodiversity.<\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">\u201cBelonging is at the heart of a strong school community,\u201d said Justin Brown, DASD Director of Student Relations and School Climate (SRSC). \u201cWhen students feel accepted for who they are, they\u2019re more confident, more connected, and more willing to engage.
