Once I got beyond the first couple of hills I was able to stay there with the leaders and our team did a great job working together, this is amazing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Indians used the strength of the pack to work their way through traffic, climbing into second place as a team by the two mile marker behind eventual winner Pennsbury as the final stages of the race loomed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cActually I don\u2019t really watch racing much,\u201d said Lacianca. \u201cIt\u2019s the way we race, our girls love to work together and it has been working, we came into the season with the goal of just getting into districts and states, the finish second in the state, I could not be prouder of the effort they gave.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_5638\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.unionvilletimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/UHSXC-3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5638\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-5638\" style=\"border: 2px solid navy; margin: 4px;\" title=\"UHSXC-3\" src=\"http:\/\/www.unionvilletimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/UHSXC-3-300x233.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"233\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-5638\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Most of the Indians moved all the way to rear as the race starts \u2014 a strategic move that paid off later, as they claimed second, behind Pennsbury, in the state, Saturday.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The Parkview course in Chocolatetown, USA was occupied by some well know friends that Unionville got to spend some more quality time with as they quested for the holy grail of Pennsylvania cross-country running.<\/p>\n<p>West Chester Henderson, who they defeated for the class AAA District One title last weekend on a much flatter Lehigh University course, along with their Ches-Mont league companions from Downingtown East and fellow District One power North Penn provided more than ample motivation for the Indians as they surpassed all by one to claim the silver medal as 2011 State runner up falling only to the Falcons by a score of 42-129, defeating the Warriors by a 129-148 margin.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_5640\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.unionvilletimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/UHSXC-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5640\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-5640\" style=\"border: 2px solid navy; margin: 4px;\" title=\"UHSXC-2\" src=\"http:\/\/www.unionvilletimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/UHSXC-2-300x224.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"224\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-5640\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Unionville&#39;s Courtney Smith runs out with the leaders during Saturday&#39;s cross country state championships.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u201cWe have improved all year and done what we set out to,\u201d added Lacianca. \u201cWhen the season started we only beat East in out league match. Last week we were able to beat Henderson and today we improved on that. It just shows that we are ready to reestablish our selves as the team to beat in the Ches-Mont.
