Formerly the school\u2019s assistant principal, Soring takes over for Dr. Don Mangan, who has been named the CCIU\u2019s assistant director of the student services division.<\/p><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Soring has been with the Learning Center since August 2022. Prior to joining the CCIU, she served as a special education teacher in learning support, life skills support, and autistic support.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Brown comes to the CCIU from Wilson High School in Berks County, where he served as vice principal since June 2023. Prior to his time at Wilson, he served as vice principal of Upper Merion High School in Montgomery County from 2020 to 2023.<\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u201cBoth Hillary and Victor have vast experience as special education teachers, coaches, and assistant principals,\u201d said Siobhan Leavy, the CCIU\u2019s director of Student Services. \u201cI am confident they have the skills and knowledge base to lead the Learning Center program and continue to provide our students with impactful special education services and create meaningful student outcomes.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u201cHillary has led many critical and successful initiatives in the areas of academic achievement and social-emotional outcomes.\u00a0We look forward to seeing hermove into the principalship and continue the legacy of supporting our students as they build skills towards postsecondary success. And we\u2019re excited to see Victor bring his expertise and leadership skills to our team.\u201d<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Soring earned her bachelor&#8217;s degree in early grades education and special education from West Chester University, a master&#8217;s degree in education from Wilkes University, and a principal certification from Immaculata University.\u00a0She\u2019s currently earning her doctorate in educational leadership and her superintendent letter of eligibility from Immaculata University.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Soring said her passion has always been in special education. She\u2019s proud to have empowered her staff to provide targeted mental health and social-emotional supports and to have contributed to a positive working and learning environment during her time at the Learning Center.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u201cI am deeply honored and excited to step into the role of principal at The Learning Center,\u201d Soring said. \u201cOver the past two years, I have witnessed the incredible dedication and passion of our staff. Together, we will continue to advance our mission of excellence in special education, providing an individualized and supportive learning environment for students with unique and diverse needs. I look forward to strengthening our partnerships and serving our districts with the same dedication that has always driven us. I am grateful to be part of this exceptional team and excited for the impactful journey ahead.\u201d<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Brown earned his bachelor\u2019s degree in criminal justice from Bloomsburg University, a master\u2019s degree in education from Gratz College, and special education and administration certificates from Alvernia University.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Brown spent more than two decades as a special education teacher before becoming an assistant principal. \u00a0He also spent more than 20 years as a football coach at the high school and collegiate levels.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>&#8220;I am excited to join the Chester County Intermediate Unit team and am eager to collaborate with the dedicated staff at the Learning Center,\u201d Brown said. \u201cI look forward to working with the students and their families to help our students reach their fullest potential.&#8221;<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"x_elementToProof\">The CCIU Learning Center promotes an individualized and supportive environment for learners who have unique and diverse needs to support their sustained growth.
