In an era of escalating four-year college costs, 11 local high school students have a lot to celebrate this spring. They have earned Associate in Arts, Liberal Arts degrees from Delaware County Community College prior to completing their high school graduation requirements.<\/p>\n
Nine students from Coatesville Area School District and two students from Downingtown Area School District took advantage of Delaware County Community College\u2019s High School Dual Enrollment Program<\/a>, which provides eligible high school students the opportunity to earn college credits while they are still in high school at a fraction of the standard tuition rates. <\/p>\n Through morning classes at DCCC\u2019s Downingtown Center and full participation in high school life, the students were able to get a jump start on their college educations by accelerating their studies at DCCC. The College has several different types of dual enrollment programs, including a Teacher Education Program<\/a> (TEP)\u00a0open to high school students who are ready to jumpstart their coursework toward a professional career in the PreK- 4\u00a0 education field, and a\u00a0PACE+ Program<\/a>\u00a0which provides Residential Carpentry and Electrical pre-apprenticeship programs that can lead to Apprenticeships, Certificate programs or employment.<\/p>\n The following students have earned DCCC associate degrees\u00a0 prior to earning their high school diplomas:<\/p>\n Coatesville Area School District\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Downingtown Area School District
