{"id":51489,"date":"2022-11-23T09:04:35","date_gmt":"2022-11-23T14:04:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unionvilletimes.com\/?p=51489"},"modified":"2022-11-23T09:04:36","modified_gmt":"2022-11-23T14:04:36","slug":"downingtown-christmas-tree-lighting-saturday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unionvilletimes.com\/?p=51489","title":{"rendered":"Downingtown Christmas Tree lighting, Saturday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-17215\" src=\"https:\/\/www.unionvilletimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Tree-Lighting-Photo-with-Santa-2021.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"282\" height=\"300\" \/>Downingtown Good Neighbor Christmas, Inc. is proud to present its annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on Saturday, November 26<sup>th<\/sup> at 6:00 p.m.\u00a0 The event takes place in Kerr Park at the Log House field below the Christmas Tree.<\/p>\n<p>There will be holiday music provided at the concert gazebo, a face painter, small craft and games for the kids, along with cookies and hot chocolate.\u00a0 Of course, the evening would not be complete without Santa arriving by firetruck at 6:45pm to help light the Christmas Tree!<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDowningtown Good Neighbor Christmas, Inc. is proud to display our 20\u2019 artificial lighted Giant Everest Christmas Tree with a 3\u2019 lighted star on top.\u00a0 The tree, which is professionally decorated, sits next to the Log House on Lancaster Avenue and at the entrance to Kerr Park, providing our community a beautiful sight for the holidays\u201d, said Dianne Plaugher, co-Chair of Downingtown Good Neighbor Christmas.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cNext up after the tree lighting is our Christmas Parade to be held on Saturday, December 10<sup>th<\/sup> at 3pm. \u00a0We have outstanding bands, floats, walking and marching groups, and much more.\u00a0 And of course the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus to end the parade, said Plaugher\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Downingtown Good Neighbor Christmas partners with the Downingtown Area Chamber of Commerce in presenting these two events. \u201cThe Chamber is honored to partner with Downingtown Good Neighbor Christmas in presenting the tree lighting and parade again this year.
