American Legion Color Guard of Kennett Square Color Guard Post 00491 with Brigadier General (PA) Maureen Weigl and SCCCC Chairman of the Board, Tim Moore (Constellation Energy)<\/p><\/div>\n

WEST GROVE – <\/strong>The Southern Chester County Chamber of Commerce held its 7th<\/sup> Annual Inspirational Breakfast on Tuesday, May 24th<\/sup>, at The Mendenhall Inn. Brigadier General (PA) Maureen Weigl joined as the Keynote Speaker, with 100+ members in attendance.\u00a0 As Deputy Adjutant General for Veterans Affairs, General Weigl\u2019s passion for connecting Veterans to services has become her purpose, after retiring from her 25-year career in the Army.\u00a0 Her commitment to \u201cserve something bigger than herself\u201d is evident, and her list of accomplishments and involvement inspiring.<\/p>\n

Brig. Gen. (PA) Weigl supervises the administration of state veterans\u2019 programs, reintegration and outreach, and veteran initiatives for nearly 800,000 veterans and their dependents. She also oversees the operation of the Commonwealth\u2019s six Veteran homes to provide long term care homes free of charge (to those who qualify) & combat homelessness. Her heart is clearly inspired by \u201cnot forgetting the moments & the people,\u201d as this was intricately woven throughout her presentation \u201cTogether We Serve.\u201d<\/p>\n

General Weigl spoke about behavioral mental health needs, reassuring resources are available and it\u2019s a matter of linking up nonprofits and people to care.\u00a0 Services range from peer support with other Veterans to counseling, therapy, medication, or a combination of these options. The goal is to help Veterans take charge of their treatment and live a full and meaningful life.<\/p>\n

General Weigl\u2019s service and dedication speaks volumes about her character and care for people; however, her passions still called her when she listened to the spouses of Veterans.\u00a0 For example, when they spoke of the challenges faced when dressing, she partnered with clothing manufacturers to make adjustable clothing for Veterans and those with prosthetic limbs.<\/p>\n

General Weigl launched her own woman-owned\/service-disabled Veteran owned small business, ProRec Resource Solutions, LLC where she provides government consulting, talent management and recruiting services.\u00a0 Her vision is to ensure ProRec Resource Solutions, LLC continues to serve clients exceptionally but also to ensure Veterans find meaningful careers.\u00a0 General Weigl also serves on boards for nonprofit agencies, like Vets2Set, where she helps Veterans and their beneficiaries determine their needs, find resources that meets those needs and connect Veterans with those resources.\u00a0 For more information about Vet Resources visit: www.dmva.pa.gov<\/a><\/p>\n

The event included a coffee Reception with Reception Sponsor, Qnectus<\/em>, followed by a sit-down breakfast and program with Presenting Sponsor, Constellation Energy.<\/em> Special guests included: Leon R. Spencer, the Chamber\u2019s 2016 Outstanding Citizen of the Year, who performed The National Anthem<\/em>, and the American Legion Color Guard of Kennett Square Color Guard Post 00491, led by John DiMatteo, Corporal, United States<\/p>\n
