{"id":48887,"date":"2021-09-07T08:02:06","date_gmt":"2021-09-07T12:02:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unionvilletimes.com\/?p=48887"},"modified":"2021-09-07T08:02:07","modified_gmt":"2021-09-07T12:02:07","slug":"county-established-resource-center-for-ida-recovery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unionvilletimes.com\/?p=48887","title":{"rendered":"County established resource center for Ida recovery"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unionvilletimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/ChesterCountyLogo.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-14510\" src=\"https:\/\/www.unionvilletimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/ChesterCountyLogo.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"303\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a>Chester County officials and the Department of Emergency Services announce the operation of a Multi-Agency Resource Center (MARC) for all individuals and families in Chester County affected by Hurricane Ida.<\/p>\n<p>The Chester County MARC is a \u201cone stop shop\u201d that provides assistance to all impacted residents by bringing together staff from many agencies who can help with the services needed to address the losses caused by Hurricane Ida.\u00a0 The MARC will operate on Wednesday, September 8 and Thursday, Sept. 9, from noon to 7 p.m. at the United Sports Training Center, 1426 Marshallton Thorndale Road, Downingtown.<\/p>\n<p>At the MARC, residents will have access to representatives from non-profit disaster relief organizations including the American Red Cross and the Salvation Army, as well as Legal Aid of Southeastern PA and local emergency management agencies. Staff from Chester County government emergency services, health, human services, housing, workforce, veterans\u2019 affairs and water resources departments will also be available to provide assistance.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Specifically, help will be given with reporting property damage, and connections with local municipalities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the aftermath of Ida, we have seen family, friends and neighbors pulling together to help each other in so many ways,\u201d said Mike Murphy, Director, Chester County Department of Emergency Services.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile it is not a federally-operated disaster relief center, this MARC is a County-led operation to bring together local resources quickly that can help to support individuals and families impacted by Hurricane Ida, including the important first step of fully and accurately reporting property damage for future state and federal aid.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Parking is available on site, and public transportation services from the Coatesville, Downingtown and Avon Grove areas of the county to the United Sports Training Center will be provided by Rover Community Transportation.\u00a0 Details of the public transportation schedule will be announced by Tuesday, September 7, and posted on Chester County\u2019s Hurricane Ida webpage, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chesco.org\/ida\">www.chesco.org\/ida<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reporting property damage<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Chester County residents and business owners who sustained property damage during Hurricane Ida are strongly encouraged to report it to the municipality where the home or business is located.\u00a0\u00a0 A <a href=\"https:\/\/survey123.arcgis.com\/share\/fdbade25e1ba4273809638eee8f02cfe\">damage assessment form<\/a> has been created to capture the critical information, making it easier to provide relevant damage information.\u00a0 As the clean-up process begins, it is important to document everything with photos of the damage and receipts for repairs and cleaning.<\/p>\n<p>For Chester County business owners, in addition to reporting property damage to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chesco.org\/1742\/Municipality-Listing\">municipality where the business is located<\/a>, all of Chester County\u2019s chambers of commerce are working to provide assistance for their business communities. Please contact your local<a href=\"https:\/\/www.brandywinevalley.com\/our-chambers\/\">Chamber of Commerce<\/a> for information and updates.
