{"id":48155,"date":"2021-04-24T08:19:41","date_gmt":"2021-04-24T12:19:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unionvilletimes.com\/?p=48155"},"modified":"2021-04-24T08:19:49","modified_gmt":"2021-04-24T12:19:49","slug":"commissioners-ok-50k-for-first-time-home-buyers-in-coatesville","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unionvilletimes.com\/?p=48155","title":{"rendered":"Commissioners OK $50K for first time home buyers in Coatesville"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unionvilletimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/ChesterCountyLogo.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-13781\" src=\"https:\/\/www.unionvilletimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/ChesterCountyLogo.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"303\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/strong>WEST CHESTER \u2014 Chester County Commissioners Marian Moskowitz, Josh Maxwell and Michelle Kichline recently approved a contract for $50,000 with Coatesville-based non-profit Movement Community Development Corporation (MCDC) to provide outreach and budgeting guidance for current residents seeking to buy their first home in Coatesville.<\/p>\n<p>Specifically, the $50,000 contract is for MCDC\u2019s Coatesville Home Ownership Made Easy (CHOME) program.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are pleased to work with MCDC on this project, and to collaborate with the City of Coatesville and many of the County\u2019s organizations and non-profits that are also focused on the city\u2019s revitalization,\u201d said Chester County Commissioners\u2019 Chair Marian Moskowitz.\u00a0 \u201cThis project is important and necessary because it lets those who are living in Coatesville take advantage of the revitalization, to remain part of the community, and help it to thrive.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The CHOME first-time buyer program will be administered by MCDC, and will call upon the resources of the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> Century Alliance, Habitat for Humanity of Chester County, the Housing Authority of Chester County, Housing Partnership of Chester County, Open Hearth Inc., and the City of Coatesville.\u00a0 <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Chester County Commissioner Josh Maxwell said, \u201cHomeownership remains one of the best long-term investments, but affordability and access, especially in a county like ours, can be a tremendous challenge.\u00a0 This $50,000 contract will fund core services to help identify and support those who want to purchase a home in Coatesville for the first time, with important tools to help achieve it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>MCDC Founder and President Alphonzo \u201cFonz\u201d Newsuan said, \u201cMCDC is honored that the County has entrusted us to be the gateway for home ownership in our region.
