Guess who is coming to town for some baseball?<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Unionville's Peter Hissey and his Salem (Va.) Red Sox teammates come into Wilmington this week to play the Blue Rocks.<\/p><\/div>\n

Peter Hissey is coming to Wilmington on Thursday for a four game series with the Salem Red Sox versus the Wilmington Blue Rocks!\u00a0 Peter is a 2008 graduate Of Unionville High School who signed with the Red Sox for a cool $1 million as a fourth round draft pick.\u00a0 The lefty standing at 6 \u201c1 and 180 pounds is in his fourth season as a minor leaguer in the farm program for the Boston Red Sox.<\/p>\n

The Salem Red Sox are part of the Southern Division of the Carolina League.\u00a0 The CAR Southern league is Single (advanced) Class A minor league baseball.\u00a0 The Salem Red Sox sit in 4th<\/sup> place in the Southern division while the Blue Rocks are in second place of the Northern Division.\u00a0 Hissey has played in 78 games and has 25 doubles and a .245 batting average according to the Minor league stats page.<\/p>\n

Games in Wilmington are starting on Thursday, August 18th<\/sup> at 7:05 p.m., Friday, the 19th<\/sup> at 7:05 p.m. and then Saturday at 6:05 p.m. and 1:35 p.m. for Sunday.\u00a0 On Thursday and Friday night there are fireworks at Dan Frawley Stadium.\u00a0 On Friday night country star James Wesley will be singing pre and post game as well.<\/p>\n

Tickets range from $6 – $10 for entrance to the games.\u00a0 It is a fun filled and inexpensive night out for the family.\u00a0 And it should be a bit more fun to be cheering on one of our own at the ball park.<\/p>\n
