Andy Dinniman<\/p><\/div>\n<p>WEST CHESTER \u2013 State Senator Andy Dinniman recently announced that two early stage technology companies in Chester and Montgomery Counties will receive more than $400,000 in investments through the Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern\u00a0 Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInvesting in emerging Pennsylvania businesses is investing in our economic future. These investments will go a long way in helping early-stage technology and life science companies meet the economic challenges of the current business climate and grow into some of the region\u2019s largest employers,\u201d said Dinniman, who serves on the Board of Directors of the Ben Franklin Technological Development Authority that initially approved the funding.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The investments, which were recently approved by the Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern Pennsylvania\u2019s Board of Directors, are as follows:<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 AboutOne, LLC of Malvern will receive $100,000.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Leversense, LLC of Newtown Square will receive $300,000.<\/p>\n<p>AboutOne is an online subscription service that provides families and individuals with one convenient place to quickly and easily store, share and retrieve important household information (medical records, receipts, education records, etc.), and family memories (children\u2019s artwork, photos, videos, etc.). This digital filing cabinet saves users time through fast and easy data entry\u2014as well as efficient and intelligent use of the data entered, such as auto-generated family newsletters, scrapbooks, education summaries, home improvement reports for tax reporting and more.\u00a0 AboutOne is accessible from any location via computer, mobile phone or any other web-enabled device.<\/p>\n<p>Leversense is commercializing an innovative new method for in vitro diagnostics technology.\u00a0 The technology, licensed from Drexel University, is a solid-state electromechanical sensor technology used to detect protein, nucleic acid and pathogen disease indicators.\u00a0 The product will bring to market unprecedented femtogram sensitivity directly in complex, unpurified samples such as whole blood and serum.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is crucial that we continue to invest in innovative and promising companies. The success of companies like Leversense and AboutOut will strengthen our economic base while increasing our tax base and providing jobs in related fields,\u201d Dinniman said.<\/p>\n<p>The funds come as part of more than $2 million that was recently cleared for investment in 10 early-stage area technology and life-sciences companies by the Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern Pennsylvania. The Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern Pennsylvania is a state-funded nonprofit that serves as one of several technology company incubators throughout the Commonwealth.
