Jie Lan’s People of Kennett Square offers a mesmerizing look at people<\/em><\/h2>\n

\"kellycolumnnewest916\"In the spirit of the change in season and switching out my wardrobe for fall, I figured that I would take the opportunity to update my Times<\/em> headshot, as well. (I\u2019m sure you all were on pins and needles waiting for this).<\/p>\n

A few months ago, I had the opportunity to be photographed by, Jie Lan, of In the Eye Photography to be featured as part of her blog, People of Kennett Square<\/i>. You can read about my experience by clicking this link: http:\/\/www.unionvilletimes.com\/?p=30222<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

I am inspired by artistic people and want to know what makes them see the world in such a unique and creative way. Jie\u2019s photographs are so visually mesmerizing. I asked if she would mind answering a few of my questions so that I could share her story with all of you.<\/p>\n

What inspired you to start your blog?<\/b><\/p>\n

I saw a photographer in New York doing his photography project “Humans of New York”, he took people’s photos on street. I was thinking, that’s such a cool idea, and I could do it here in Kennett Square, so I started my project: ” People of Kennett Square”. I find people who live or work in KSQ, and contact them for a photoshoot and interview. I want to tell their stories through my lens.<\/p>\n

How long have you been a photographer?<\/b><\/p>\n

It’s been 3 years. I always love to take photos, but never got serious until 2013.<\/p>\n

That year I signed up for some photography courses online. I took my camera everywhere, and gave myself an assignment everyday. I didn’t have a model, I took pictures of my daughter, and sometimes I did self\u00adportraits. I also asked friends to be my models. Photography is my passion, I feel very lucky to be able to call my passion my job.<\/p>\n

What inspires you?<\/b><\/p>\n

Everything around me. Maybe a book, a painting, or a flower etc.<\/p>\n

What is your favorite thing to photograph?<\/b><\/p>\n

I love to photograph people. I love to talk to them and capture their beautiful moments. I also like still life and food photography.<\/p>\n
