Dorothy Hargrove Wilson<\/p><\/div>\n

Dorothy Hargrove Wilson, age 91 of Crosslands Community in\u00a0<\/span>Kennett Square, PA, died Monday June 20, 2016 at her home. She\u00a0<\/span>was the wife of James Burnett Wilson who died in 2011 and with\u00a0<\/span>whom she shared 65 years of marriage.<\/span><\/p>\n

Born in Elizabeth, NJ, she was the daughter of the late George C and\u00a0<\/span>the late Eleanor (Chew) Hargrove.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dottie enjoyed a busy and fulfilling career as homemaker, mother of 4\u00a0<\/span>and Navy wife. Dottie volunteered for roles in Navy relief organizations\u00a0<\/span>and the Red Cross and was an active member in her church. She\u00a0<\/span>had a gift for making and keeping friends. Her life interests included\u00a0<\/span>gardening, raising dogs, creating delicious meals, painting, and having\u00a0<\/span>fun with children. Dottie\u2019s creativity was used to the full during her 6\u00a0<\/span>years of caring for her mother following her mother\u2019s major stroke.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Survivors include two sons, George H. Wilson (Heidi) of Plantation,\u00a0<\/span>FL, and Matthew R. Wilson (Linda) of Columbus, OH; one daughter,\u00a0<\/span>Susan Wilson Fowler (Matthew) of England; her eldest son\u2019s widow\u00a0<\/span>Margaret; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by one son, Henry\u00a0<\/span>M. Wilson (Margaret) in 1983, and her brother Robert G. Hargrove.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dottie\u2019s memorial service will be held in the William Penn Room at\u00a0<\/span>Crosslands Retirement Community 1660 East Street Road Kennett\u00a0<\/span>Square, PA on a date to be announced. Interment of ashes will be\u00a0<\/span>held at the United States Naval Academy next to her husband.<\/span><\/p>\n
