EAST MARLBOROUGH \u2014 Summer at Longwood Gardens is extraordinary by day and night. From the Waterlily Display<\/span><\/a> featuring more than 100 types of colorful day- and night-blooming waterlilies, to the expansive Meadow Garden<\/span><\/a>, to the shady groves of Peirce\u2019s Woods<\/span><\/a>, to performances under the stars, there is something for everyone this season at Longwood. \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Summer Spectacular also features free and ticketed performances throughout the season including Mexican Indie Pop Artist,\u00a0Natalia Lafourcade<\/span><\/a>,\u00a0<\/b>on Wednesday, July 6. \u00a0Natalia Lafourcade is one of Latin America\u2019s leading indie pop artists, and was the biggest award winner at the 2016 Latin Grammys. Lafourcade also made headlines when she won Best Latin Album at the 2016 Grammy Awards for Hasta la Ra\u00edz<\/i>. For a complete listing of summer performances, visit longwoodgardens.org<\/span><\/a>.In addition to the horticulture splendor, the popular Longwood Beer Garden<\/span><\/a> returns with live music on Thursday evenings. Guests will enjoy dining alfresco with pub fare and brews including Longwood\u2019s newest Signature Brew, Longwood Seasons: Grapefruit Solstice\u2014<\/i>made by Victory Brewing Company with grapefruit grown at Longwood. In addition, the popular Longwood Seasons: Summer Zest <\/i>will also return, as well as other selections from Victory Brewing Company. Beer Garden hours are Thursday\u2013Saturday evenings 5:30\u20139:30 pm through July 30. Access to the Beer Garden is included with Gardens Admission.<\/span><\/p>\n

The nighttime spectacle Nightscape: A Light and Sound Experience by Klip Collective returns August 3. Created by Klip Collective<\/span><\/a> of Philadelphia, this innovative display combines light, sound, imagery, and music into an unforgettable nighttime experience. After a successful debut last summer that attracted 180,000 guests, Longwood is bringing back the most popular installations, along with a few new surprises.<\/span><\/p>\n

New installations include the Exhibition Hall in the Conservatory featuring a kaleiodoscope of light and sound; the Mediterranean Garden with lush plantings of flowers, grasses, and vines under lit by vibrant blues and greens, and the Waterlily Display with elements of light reaching out from the depths of the waterlily pools while the bold, flat surfaces of Victoria waterplatters serve as the canvas.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nightscape is on view August 3 through October 29, Wednesday through Saturday evenings from 6-11 pm. Nightscape<\/i> is best viewed beginning at 9:00 pm in August, 8:00 pm in September, and 7:00 pm in October. Special tickets, which include all-day admission, are required and should be purchased in advance. Admission is $27 for adults (ages 19+); $17 for students (ages 5\u201318); and free for ages 4 and under.
