Parkside Avenue, Philadelphia, 215-566-7900, <a href=\"http:\/\/manncenter.org\/\"><span class=\"s2\">http:\/\/manncenter.org<\/span><\/a>) for a full band show with Lynyrd Skynyrd. Frampton will also play a full band show on June 14 at the Sands Bethlehem Event Center (77 Sands Boulevard, Bethlehem, 610-297-7400,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/sandseventcenter.com\/\"><span class=\"s3\"><i>http:\/\/sandseventcenter.com<\/i><\/span><\/a>).<\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The veteran English rocker will be sharing a bill with Gregg Allman in early July and then will hook up again with Lynyrd Skynyrd for shows in late July and early August.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The full band shows and the acoustic shows are very different.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">For Frampton, the unplugged shows provided a challenge &#8212; and an opportunity to feel re-invigorated. The last time he played this area was in October when he brought the \u201cPeter Frampton Raw, An Acoustic Tour\u201d to the Scottish Rites Theatre in Collingswood, New Jersey<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cI wanted something different to do and I had never done a fully acoustic tour,\u201d said Frampton, during a recent phone interview last week from his home in Nashville. \u201cI can get up with myself and another guitar player and go all around the world. On most of my tours with my band, I\u2019d do a 15-minute solo portion.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cA full show solo was something I was very anxious about having never done it before. Now, I love these shows. It\u2019s so different than playing with a band. I didn\u2019t really have any expectations. I was anxious because I didn\u2019t know if I could keep an audience\u2019s attention that long with just acoustic music.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cIt was like \u2018Storytellers\u2019 meets \u2018Unplugged.\u2019 Audiences really liked my stories when I told them. You could hear a pin drop. I realized that when you just tell the stories, this will happen. I add humor and that goes over very well. The most surprising thing was the attentiveness of the audience.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The new direction for Frampton hasn\u2019t been limited to his live performances. It has extended to his new album, <i>\u201cAcoustic Classics.\u201d <\/i>For the first time ever, Frampton presents stripped-down versions of his classic hits including \u201cBaby, I Love Your Way,\u201d \u201cLines On My Face,\u201d \u201cDo You Feel Like I Do,\u201d \u201cShow Me The Way\u201d and more.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201c<i>Acoustic Classics\u201d<\/i> includes one new song, \u201cAll Down to Me,\u201d which was co-written by Gordon Kennedy, the co-producer of Frampton\u2019s Grammy Award-winning album <i>Fingerprints<\/i>. \u201cAll Down to Me\u201d is the only track on the record featuring a guest musician.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cThe new CD is acoustic re-dos of earlier stuff,\u201d said Frampton. \u201cI\u2019m doing the hits and some of the deeper tracks. It wasn\u2019t as easy as I expected it would be. The first tracks I did sounded like me without a band. I realized that the performance was too forceful.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cSome of these songs, I\u2019ve done for so long that they\u2019ve evolved. I wanted to return \u2014 to go back to how they sounded when I wrote them. \u2018Show Me The Way\u2019 and \u2018Baby, I Love Your Way\u2019 were most difficult because I had done them so many times with a band. Performance is always about the vibe you play with \u2014 putting the songs across with emotion. If it\u2019s a good song, it will work with anything.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Frampton knows that there are some songs he must play \u2014 no matter if he\u2019s performing solo or with a band.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201c\u2018Do You Feel Like We Do,\u2019 \u2018Show Me The Way\u2019 and \u2018Baby, I Love Your Way\u2019 are must-plays,\u201d said Frampton, whose musical resume also includes stints with Humble Pie and The Herd.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cI didn\u2019t play \u2018I\u2019m In You\u2019 for years and now I\u2019m doing it again. There are times when I wish we could just stop doing this song or that song. Then, the thing I remember is that without those songs, the audiences wouldn\u2019t be sitting out there night after night. The program \u201cBalanchine and Beyond\u201d opens June 9 and runs through June 12 at the Merriam Theater (250 South Broad Street, Philadelphia, 215-893-1999, <a href=\"http:\/\/paballet.org\/\"><span class=\"s4\">paballet.org<\/span><\/a>).<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The evening features four works &#8212; Hans Van Manen\u2019s \u201cAdagio Hammerklavier,\u201d Trisha Brown\u2019s \u201cO zlozony\/ O composite,\u201d Jean-Pierre Frohlich\u2019s \u201cVaried Trio (in four),\u201d and George Balanchine\u2019s \u201cThe Four Temperaments.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0Van Manen\u2019s \u201cAdagio Hammerklavier\u201d is set to one of Beethoven\u2019s sparest piano concertos &#8212; Op 106.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cIt\u2019s a piano solo that is very peaceful &#8212; very calm,,\u201d said Artistic Director Angel Corella, during a phone interview Wednesday morning from his office in Center City Philadelphia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cThere are three principal couples and they have to move very slow. Parts are in slow motion &#8212; including very slow lifts. There are three movements. It\u2019s an exposition of lines. Every position is really clean.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In this piece three couples enact a series of encounters which seem to never quite achieve resolution. Tension builds as the flow of choreography is constantly disrupted in beautiful manner until Van Manen allows the choreography to release and flow, pinning it back to the melodic line of the score, moving above the notes in its own parallel pattern.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cThe mood of this piece is serene and beautiful,\u201d said Corella. \u201cIt\u2019s a very unusual way to open a program &#8212; to open it with a calm piece. The music is one of my favorite Beethoven pieces and Hans Van Manen is one of the best choreographers in the world.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cTrisha Brown is an American choreographer living in Europe. It\u2019s a new era of modern choreography and she was one of the first to do something outside the box. We\u2019re the first company in America to perform one of her works. We\u2019re very lucky to be able to do it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cIt was created for Paris Opera Ballet and features an original score from Grammy-nominated composer Laurie Anderson. \u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In \u201cO zlozony\/O composite,\u201d Trisha Brown brings two poems to life &#8212; Edna St. Vincent Millay\u2019s \u201cRenascence\u201d and Czeslaw and Milosz\u2019s \u201cOde to a Bird.\u201d This piece combines the richness of Brown\u2019s most complex movement and the refined action of classical dance. In an investigation into the visualization of poetry, the choreography interweaves movement with verses by the poet as the dancers perform with a beautiful, dream-like quality.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cThe third piece &#8212; \u2018Varied Trio (in four)\u2019 &#8212; was created by Jean-Pierre Frohlich, who works with the New York City Ballet,\u201d said Corella, a native of Barcelona, Spain. \u201cHe made this pas de deux for the New York City Ballet.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The piece features a collection of short dances with movement that resonates with the dissonant, contemporary score of Lou Harrison. First premiered in 2013 by New York City Ballet MOVES, \u201cVaried Trio (in four)\u201d is also Pennsylvania Ballet company premiere.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cIt\u2019s a very creative piece,\u201d said Corella. \u201cIt\u2019s a very unusual piece. It\u2019s going to be a great add to the program. The fourth piece &#8212; \u2018The Four Temperaments\u2019 &#8212; is one of my favorite ballets by Balanchine. It\u2019s one of our strengths as a Balanchine company.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cThe Four Temperaments\u201d is a ballet inspired by the medieval belief that human beings are made up of four different humors that determine a person\u2019s temperament. Each temperament associated with one of the four classical elements &#8212; earth, air, water and fire, which were in turn the basis for the four humors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The four humors are reflected in the ballet\u2019s four movements, \u201cMelancholic,\u201d \u201cSanguinic,\u201d \u201cPhlegmatic,\u201d and \u201cCholeric.\u201d Set to the score by Paul Hindemith, \u201cThe Four Temperaments\u201d is one of Balanchine\u2019s earliest experimental works, fusing classical steps with a lean and angular style.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cEach temperament is completely different from the others,\u201d said Corella. \u201cThe music fits the moods. It has sharp edges. Balanchine makes the music visual. The event, which will be held along State Street in Media on June 11 from 6 p.m.-1 a.m., will feature Shemekia Copeland as a headline act.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Copeland is touring in support of her new album \u201cOutskirts of Love,\u201d which was just released in September 2015 on Alligator Records. Her previous album was \u201c33 1\/3\u201d in 2012.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cI feel like I\u2019ve had this album made forever,\u201d said Copeland, during a phone interview this week from a tour stop in Davenport, Iowa. \u201cI started making it a year ago. We did it in pieces. I like working on it, stopping and reflecting and then going back.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cIt was recorded at two studios \u2014 Southern Ground and Sound Emporium. I used the same producer at both \u2014 Oliver Wood. He\u2019s a genius. I love working with him. Oliver makes the calls and he\u2019s usually right. I trust him to make the right decision.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cThe album is doing well. The music has been received very well &#8212; especially in Europe. I\u2019ve been going to Europe for years. I don\u2019t have a huge presence there &#8212; but it\u2019s getting better. I just played some shows in Europe in March. France, Norway and Switzerland have been good countries for me and my music. We\u2019re foreigners there. We come across the ocean to perform for them and they\u2019re very appreciative.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Copeland was born in Harlem, New York on April 10, 1979, and came to her singing career naturally. Her bluesman father (the late Johnny Clyde Copeland) recognized his daughter\u2019s talent early on. He always encouraged her to sing at home and even brought her on stage to sing at Harlem\u2019s famed Cotton Club when she was just eight. At that time Copeland\u2019s embarrassment outweighed her desire to sing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">But when she was 15, and her father\u2019s health began to slow him down, she received the calling. At 16, Copeland joined her father on his tours after he was diagnosed with a degenerative heart condition. Soon enough Copeland was opening, and sometimes even stealing her father\u2019s shows.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Copeland stepped out of her father\u2019s shadow in 1998 with her groundbreaking debut CD \u201cTurn The Heat Up,\u201d which was recorded when she was only 18. \u00a0Since then, she has recorded seven more albums \u2014 including \u201cOutskirts of Love.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cWith the new album, the choice of songs took forever,\u201d said Copeland. \u201cSongs are so important. If you\u2019re putting something out in the universe, you have to do it right. On my last three albums, I\u2019ve started doing some songs that are a little more political\u2014 topics like religious hypocrisy and domestic abuse.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cOn this tour, I\u2019m doing a lot of songs from the new album. And, I\u2019m doing songs from all my previous albums. But, I\u2019m not doing any covers. I have enough of my own to draw from.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Copeland plans on working the new album for awhile.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cI\u2019ve not gone back in the studio at all since I made the new record,\u201d said Copeland. \u201cI\u2019m not a serial recorder. What I put out in the universe is really important to me. When I make an album, I want to have something to say. People who make an album every year usually have nothing to say.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cI already have a big repertoire of songs to draw from for my live shows. And, I have a great band that\u2019s been with me a long time. Our guitarist Arthur Nielsen is in his 18th year. Our bassist Kevin Jenkins is in his 12th year and guitarist Willie Scanlon is in his seventh year. He is best known for his song \u201cNew Way Home\u201d and his debut album \u201cWake Up World\u201d &#8212; both of which were successes in Finland and Norway. His sophomore album \u201cFollow Me,\u201d which was released in 2014, also did well in those countries.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s5\">Elliot performed on the \u201c<\/span><span class=\"s1\">Today Show\u201d as\u00a0Elvis\u00a0Duran\u2019s Artist of the Month on May 23. He also premiered his video for\u00a0\u201cNo One Elise\u201d on iHeart Radio around the same time.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cI did the \u2018Today Show\u2019 two weeks ago and now I\u2019m off on the mall tour,\u201d said Elliot. \u201cWe have 10 stops in two weeks.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s6\">Elliot is already making people take notice. His single \u201cNo One Else\u2019 was Number <\/span><span class=\"s1\">1 at NRJ (largest radio station in Scandinavia) and was featured in EA\u2019s latest \u201cThe Sims\u201d video game. His multi-platinum debut album has been one of Spotify\u2019s most-streamed Nordic albums of all time and was awarded Spotify Nordic \u201cInnovator of the Year.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The young artist has been involved in show business for a long time. Elliot was a member of the boy choir Cantores Minores and appeared in the Svenska Teatern musicals \u201cCabaret\u201d and \u201cKristina fr\u00e5n Duvem\u00e5la.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cI\u2019ve been a fan of music since I was two,\u201d said Elliot. \u201cI got into the boys\u2019 choir when I was six. After that, I did some musicals at the National Theater of Finland. For the fans, it was worth the wait.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Australian singer-songwriter\u2019s first recording was an EP titled \u201cSong For&#8230;\u201d. The record came out in June 2009 and then Corby moved from his home in Sydney, Australia to London, England.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In 2010, the talented singer with a soulful voice issued two more EPs &#8212; \u201cMy False\u201d and \u201cTransition to Colour.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In September 2011, Corby released his fourth EP, \u201cInto the Flame,\u201d a record that saw him move more from singer-songwriter roots to a soulful vibe. By December 2012, \u201cInto the Flame\u201d reached \u20186\u00d7\u00a0platinum\u201d certification by ARIA (Australian Recording Industry Association).<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">By this time, Corby was well on his way to establishing himself as one of Australia\u2019s top new talents.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In May 2013, his single \u201cResolution\u201d hit Number 3 on the ARIA Charts under the category of the top 50 Australian artist singles of 2013 and also charted in New Zealand and the United Kingdom. Two months later, his \u201cResolution\u201d EP was released.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Corby spent the next two years working on a variety of projects. Eight months ago, he put out a single titled \u201cMonday\u201d and followed with another single, \u201cKnife Edge\u201d in February. Both tracks can be found on his debut album \u201cTelluric,\u201d which debuted at number one in Australia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Now, Corby is in North America for a month-long stateside tour with his band. The tour touched down in the area on June 14 for a show at Union Transfer (1026 Spring Garden Street, Philadelphia, 215-232-2100, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.utphilly.com\/\"><span class=\"s3\">www.utphilly.com<\/span><\/a>).<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cThis is my second tour of the states,\u201d said Corby, during a phone interview Wednesday afternoon from a tour stop in Dallas, Texas. \u201cI was here in the fall of 2015 for a number of shows.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cThe album just had its worldwide release recently. I recorded it in Australia. I did all the demos myself in a little house on a mountain and then took all the parts to a studio in Melbourne and re-recorded them there with a band. When it was time to decide which songs to use on the album, I went back and picked songs from both.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Although he is only 25 years old, Corby has been making music for a long time.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cI\u2019ve been singing since I was five,\u201d said Corby. \u201cIt\u2019s one of those things you just fall into. When people know you can sing, they ask you to sing all the time. And, singing is all I know how to do. I left school at 13 and joined a band.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Corby\u2019s first brush with \u201cfame\u201d came in 2007 when Corby was 16. He competed in the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Australian_Idol_%28season_5%29\"><span class=\"s3\">fifth season<\/span><\/a> of \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Australian_Idol\"><span class=\"s3\">Australian Idol<\/span><\/a>\u201d and finished in the runner-up position. He does not consider this as a major part of his musical resume.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cThe show \u2018Australian Idol\u2019 is like glorified karaoke,\u201d said Corby. \u201cYou\u2019re more like an accessory on television &#8212; especially as a teen prodigy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cA year later, I started working on my \u2018Song For&#8230;\u2019 EP. I just wanted to get used to putting music out and getting O.K. with it. I made five EPs before I made the album. They showed incremental growth stages. I wasn\u2019t ready to commit to a full record.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">When Corby did make the commitment to record an LP, he was ready.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cIt took me two months to write the album.\u201d said Corby. \u201cI just start by creating the instrumental track. But, it isn\u2019t a real song until the last line is done. It only took three weeks to record it but the mixing took a long time. When we were at songs 25 and 26, I was digging out old ideas from years ago. It was like a catharsis.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cIn our live show, most of the songs are from the album.\u00a0 I do play a few songs from the EPs &#8212; maybe four or five old ones. I\u2019d love to re-record some of the old stuff as a 25-year-old version of myself.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cI\u2019ve had this band together for awhile. My bassist has been with me for 12 years and I\u2019ve known my guitarist since I was three years old. We were all friends before we became a band. Amazingly, when the Broadcast plays at MilkBoy Philly (1100 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, 215- 925-6455, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.milkboyphilly.com\/\"><span class=\"s3\">www.milkboyphilly.com<\/span><\/a>) on June 15, it will be its Philadelphia debut.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The group has gone through some major changes in its short existence. Originally known as Caitlin Krisko and The Broadcast, the band was a New York-based musical outfit that was described a few years ago as a modern day \u201cGrace Slick meets Led Zeppelin.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Now known simply as The Broadcast, the band is based in Ashville, North Carolina with a line-up featuring Aaron Austin on guitar, E\u2019Lon Jordan-Dunlap on bass, Tyler Housholder on percussion, Jaze Uries on drums and Krisko on vocals.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The band\u2019s music is now firmly entrenched in the Americana camp. Proof of this can be found on The Broadcast\u2019s forthcoming album, \u201cFrom The Horizon,\u201d which will come out on June 17.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cWhere we\u2019re living has been an influence on the band,\u201d said Krisko, during a phone interview Monday from her home in Asheville. \u201cOur first album \u2018Dodge the Arrow\u2019 was recorded when we lived in New York. The new album was recorded here in North Carolina.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cI put the band together in the Village (New York\u2019s Greenwich Village). I lived on Sullivan Street in the heart of the Village. The idea for The Broadcast started in 2009. What it is now is very different. After we recorded our first studio album, we relocated to Asheville in 2010. New York had just gotten too expensive &#8212; to live and to tour out of.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">So, Krisko and Housholder packed their bags and opted for the pleasant living in the clean mountain air of Asheville. It was in Carolina that Austin joined The Broadcast as lead guitarist.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cLiving in a place as nice as Asheville has definitely been an influence on the band,\u201d said Krisko. \u201cAnd, the addition of Aaron has also been a big influence in the band\u2019s direction. I\u2019m a Detroit girl who grew up in the South Williamsburg area of Brooklyn. Aaron is a Carolina boy who grew up in Pollocksville, which is about an hour from the coast.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Pollocksville is a quiet little town of 325 located in the northeast portion of Jones County in North Carolina &#8212; just a little bit different than Brooklyn.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cThe music we\u2019re making now really shows these different influences,\u201d said Krisko. \u201cAnd, it shows the growth we\u2019ve had as a band.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cWe spent the first half of 2015 working on the new songs. Aaron and I wrote the album together. We were sending demos back-and-forth to each other. Then, when we had all the songs ready, we went into the studio.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Produced and engineered by multi-Grammy award winner Jim Scott (Johnny Cash, Sting, Tedeschi Trucks Band), \u201c<i>From <\/i>The<i> Horizon\u201d<\/i>\u00a0stays true to The Broadcast\u2019s roots, while also showcasing an evolving maturity.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">According to Scott, \u201cThis record is very brave in the fact that it doesn\u2019t follow a pattern or trend. It\u2019s classically good music based on the music that we\u2019ve all listened to since the \u201950s until today,&#8221; says Scott. \u201cIt\u2019s got soul, and vibrancy, and life. Caitlin is such a great singer.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Broadcast made the new album with Scott at PLYRZ Studio &#8212; Scott\u2019s studio in Valencia, a town in California\u2019s High Desert.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cWe flew out to the desert and recorded it over the course of two weeks,\u201d said Krisko. \u201cJim is very much an advocate of the classic way of recording &#8212; which was new for us. After working with Jim, I\u2019ll never overdub again. He told us &#8212; you\u2019re a band\u2026you play as a band\u2026you should record as a band.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cSo, we recorded the album live in the studio. We did not use a click track for any of it. We wanted this album to be a very different record than our last one. We wanted to go to the desert and capture the experience we were having. We knew that the setting would influence the vibe.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The vibe may lean in the direction of Americana but, at the same time, it encompasses a lot of genres.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">According to Krisko, \u201cSome of our favorite artists like Tedeschi Trucks Band, Grace Potter, Chris Stapleton, Jason Isbell, Chis Robinson, Sturgill Simpson have created an authentic music community, one that embraces soul, rock, Americana, country and blues.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cBecause of these musicians, bands like The Broadcast can aspire to a scene bigger than ourselves. It feels incredible knowing there\u2019s a renewed desire from people for this style of music.
