The Unionville High School Indoor drumline is headed to the World Guard International Percussion World Championships this week.<\/p><\/div>\n

EAST MARLBOROUGH \u2014 The Unionville High School Indoor Color Guard and Indoor Drumline turned in an exceptional performances at their Championship competitions on Saturday \u2014\u00a0with both units finishing in the top two of their respective competition.<\/p>\n

The Indoor Color Guard won first\u00a0place at the Cavalcade of Bands Color Guard Championships Scholastic Regional A Division. Following an undefeated season, they had a terrific performance competing against eight Color Guards from Southeastern Pennsylvania schools. Their show, \u201cAt the Speakeasy\u201d, is a lively routine with a 1920\u2019s flair. The students spun flags, rifles and sabres with complex choreography that had the crowd cheering. The Guard is under the direction of Mary Litzenberg, Jen Hilbish, Tanner Jones, Woody Kleintz, Kate Rittler and George Thomson.<\/p>\n

The Unionville High School Indoor Color Guard won firt place at the Cavalcade of Bands Color Guard Championships Scholastic Regional A Division with their show “At the Speakeasy,” Saturday.<\/p><\/div>\n

The Indoor Drumline took second place in a very competitive field at the Mid Atlantic Percussion Society Championships. Their program, \u201cLeave Your Mark\u201d, is a musical introspective about making a difference in the world by finding the best part of oneself to give. The drumline successfully captivated both the audience and judges to secure their second place finish out of twelve competing drumlines. The Unionville Drumline will now\u00a0compete in the World Guard International Percussion World Championships being held in Dayton April 14-17. The Drumline is under the direction of Cody Stafford, Trey Collins, Devon Bond, Matt Marion, Maria Graham, Sean Clendening, Brianna Dougherty and Chris Houck.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, April 12, the Unionville High School Indoor Percussion Ensemble will host a\u00a0Dayton Send Off Show\u00a0in the UHS gym.\u00a0We encourage all friends, family, neighbors and acquaintances to come out and enjoy the program “Leave Your Mark” one last time before they head to Dayton for the WGI World Championships.<\/p>\n

Doors open at 7:00 PM and the\u00a0show will last approximately 30 minutes. The Indoor Color Guard will also do an encore performance of their award winning show, \u201cAt the Speakeasy\u201d. Admission is free.<\/p>\n
