The fair will offer activities, food, games, a plant and book sale, educational exhibits, and a variety of short talks on subjects such as raising vegetables, growing herbs, garden design, pruning, butterfly gardening, attracting birds, raised beds, daylilies, composting, and more.\u00a0 The entire event is under cover, so it will be held rain or shine. Cost is just $5 per adult and there is no charge for children.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGardening 101\u2014It\u2019s Easier than you Think!\u201d is geared for beginners but will have something for everyone.\u00a0 Participants can make a living wreath, play gardening Jeopardy or mini-golf, enjoy hot dogs and ice cream, or chat with D.B. Pest, the pesticide education robot. Throughout the day, Master Gardeners will hold mini-workshops on various topics of interest. Participants can choose the talks they like, moving from one to another as they please. Representatives of area environmental and horticultural organizations and clubs will be on hand with displays and educational materials.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Master Gardener Programs are affiliated with land-grant universities such as Penn State and managed through the Cooperative Extension service. Master Gardeners are volunteers who educate the public about gardening and horticultural issues.
