KENNETT SQUARE \u2013 The run\u2019s now iconic theme \u2018Small town, BIG race & Strong Community\u2019 certainly captured the feel of 26th annual Kennett Run Saturday morning. Thousands gathered amidst the backdrop of charming historic Kennett Square to run, walk or cheer for family and friends.
\nTo date, the run has raised more than 1,000,000 for local schools and charities through gift and in kind donations. It continues to gain momentum annually; keeping a steady footing and maintaining an impressive endurance that has enabled it to stay true to its original goals.<\/p>\n

The run got its start in 1989 when Rotary Club of Kennett Square member, Michael R. Perna, suggested that Rotary board that it join forces with other Kennett area service clubs to host an event with some clearly defined goals.<\/p>\n
