Behold the picture that was to \u201cbreak the internet!\u201d Except, it didn\u2019t. I wish that I had an eye-rolling\u00a0emoji because it would be inserted right here:<\/p>\n

Wait. How did that get there? (Sometimes you have to go old school and use emoticons, the\u00a0precursor to emoji. Ed<\/strong>.<\/em>)<\/p>\n

Wow. Who knew? Anyhow….<\/p>\n

\"UTKellyColumn<\/a>I actually feel sorry for Kim Kardashian. Is it possible she doesn\u2019t realize how absurd she looks\u00a0in this photograph? Okay, this photograph is cropped by my editor, the one who made the annoying comment above \u2014 who notes The Times<\/em> is a family newspaper \u2014 but you can see the whole thing everywhere else on the Internet. Makes you wonder about the team of people surrounding her.<\/p>\n

And, on a larger scale, how horrifying that the sight of an oiled, ample rear end on a woman\u00a0(most noted for a leaked sex tape) qualifies as news? Yikes.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s the real deal, though: Kim Kardashian (daft as she may appear) has more than\u00a025 MILLION followers on twitter. She has the third most popular Instagram account. She\u00a0has a popular TV show, clothing line, make-up line and several perfumes. She is uber\u00a0successful…THAT fact can not be denied. (If our measure of success is making obscene\u00a0amounts of money but, I suppose that is a debate for another day)<\/p>\n

But, why?<\/p>\n

Other than mastering the art of sensationalism, what does she really put out into the world that\u00a0should garner such fame? She took over 300 selfies to compile into a book. Inspiring.<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t get me started on her husband. He is the icing on the cake. Actually, Google \u201cKanye\u00a0West\u2019s best quotes\u201d if you are having a bad day. You\u2019ll thank me later. The two of them are a\u00a0match made in heaven.<\/p>\n

I will give props to Paper Magazine \u00a0for this image. Had you ever even heard of Paper Magazine\u00a0before this? Me neither. So, now we have.<\/p>\n

What did you think about Kim\u2019s media blitz? Did you give it a second thought? More importantly,\u00a0don\u2019t you think there should be an eye-rolling emoji?<\/p>\n
