The Unionville High School Boys soccer team notched its 14th win, over West Chester East, seen here celebrating a goal, Tuesday.<\/p><\/div>\n

The UHS boy\u2019s varsity soccer juggernaut rolled on last night as they beat a very good West Chester East Vikings squad 3-0.\u00a0 For the Indians (14-0-2) it was their fourth consecutive shutout (9th on the year).\u00a0 They continue to lead the Ches Mont in fewest goals allowed.<\/p>\n

The Indians applied pressure from the opening tap.\u00a0 The mid-field was controlled by Seniors Sam Alfonsi, AJ Bernstein and Logan Carlow.\u00a0 Their pin point passes found their way onto the feet of the aggressive front line of Peter Ferraro, Aidan Walsh and Alex Andersen.<\/p>\n

Through the first 25 minutes of the game, although the Indians out shot their opponents by a 12 to 5 margin, the game remained knotted at 0-0.\u00a0 Then in the 26th minute, off a rebound from an Andrew Chegia cross, Andersen found the ball on his right foot.\u00a0 He knew just what to do with it as he sent a blast that nearly took out the WC East keeper for a 1-0 lead.<\/p>\n

In the second half, the Vikings amped up their effort.\u00a0 The UHS back line, anchored by Brian Cortese, Jack Seilus and Dan Beckman, along with Keeper Henry Shafer (10 saves),\u00a0 turned away each and every Viking volley.\u00a0 Alex Andersen went on to score two more goals, giving him the \u201chat trick\u201d and giving the Indians another Chest Mont league victory.<\/p>\n

The Indians have officially won the Chest Mont league and are ranked #1 in the District 1 AAA power rankings and #4 in the State (Pennsylvania PSCA Coaches Poll).\u00a0 They have two more regular season games:\u00a0 an away contest on Thursday evening 7 PM at Avon Grove before they return home on Friday afternoon (5PM) to close out the regular season against Council Rock South.<\/p>\n

District playoffs follow the week of October 20th.\u00a0 The Indians figure to open the playoffs at home (day\/opponent TBD) as a top seed in District 1.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
