\"Image<\/a>WEST CHESTER \u2013 Chester County\u2019s goal: House 100 veterans in 100 days \u2013 an initiative that began March 17 and is only at the halfway point with a little more than a month until the June 27 deadline, a county news release said.<\/p>\n

The campaign came in response to the federal government\u2019s push to end veterans\u2019 homelessness by the end of 2015. So far, 50 Chester County veterans have found permanent housing through U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Veterans Supportive Housing Vouchers or through temporary financial assistance services, the release said.<\/p>\n

\u201cA key component of our success in finding housing for veterans is to identify a greater inventory of low-cost rental units throughout the county,\u201d said Michael Hackman, administrator of Decade to Doorways, the county\u2019s 10-year plan to end and prevent homelessness.<\/p>\n

Anyone interested in taking part in the campaign, including landlords who would like to list available rental units, should contact Robin Senss, who oversees Chester County\u2019s Housing Locator, at \u00a0484-999-6946.<\/p>\n

County-based agencies taking part in the Veterans Housing Campaign include the Chester County Department of Community Development, Decade to Doorways, the Housing Authority of Chester County, Veterans\u2019 Multi-Service Center, the Coatesville Veterans Administration Medical Center, the Fresh Start Program, Mental Health and Intellectual Disabilities Department, Opportunities Industrialization Center, Catholic Human Services, and the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.<\/p>\n
