Continuing its tradition of presenting a Delaware or world premiere each season, First State Ballet Theatre (FSBT) will debut \u201cCinderella\u201d\u00a0\u2013\u00a0<\/i>its second world premiere of the 2013-14 season \u2013 on the main stage of Wilmington\u2019s Grand Opera House.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

FSBT dancer and choreographer Alex Buckner has set the piece on FSBT\u2019s 22-person professional company. Buckner is a 2013-14 DDOA Emerging Artist Fellowship recipient who choreographed the company\u2019s April 2013 world premiere of \u201cA Midsummer Night\u2019s Dream\u201d and its February 2014 world premiere of \u201cIrene.\u201d His work was also featured at the 2011 Delaware Arts Summit, a FSBT news release said.<\/p>\n

\u201cFSBT\u2019s \u2018Cinderella\u2019 presents the classic fairy tale with the ultimate happy ending. Goodness prevails, evil is thwarted, justice triumphs and joy reigns supreme,\u201d said Robert Grenfell, FSBT\u2019s president and executive director. \u201cIt\u2019s a humorous, uplifting, joyful show sure to delight patrons of all ages and is ideal entertainment for families. In addition to Alex\u2019s engaging choreography and Prokofiev\u2019s enchanting score, our production will feature more than 40 spectacular new costumes, most designed and created in Russia.\u201d<\/p>\n
