Asplundh Hall, Phillips Memorial Building, on the campus of West Chester University, under the direction of Music Director Mary Woodmansee Green.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Actor and raconteur Michael Boudewyns will narrate the children\u2019s classic, which features members of the orchestra in the parts of Peter, his grandfather, the bird, duck, cat, hunters and, of course, the wolf.<br \/>\nMaestra Green will open the hour-long concert for children of all ages and their families, with short demonstrations of strings, woodwinds, brass and percussion, and a special appearance by violinist Philip E. Carter<strong>,<\/strong> seconnd-place Kennett Symphony 2010 Instrumental Competition Winner. Eighteen-year-old Carter<strong> <\/strong>is in the 12th grade and schooled at home.\u00a0The son of Norman and Lori Carter of Bensalem, PA, he has studied violin for 9 years and is currently a private student of Lee Snyder at the Settlement Music School.<\/p>\n<p><em> <\/em><\/p>\n<p>Boudewyns has become a guest artist with several symphony orchestras throughout the country with popular family concerts, presenting vaudeville-inspired performances of works such as <em>Peter an the Wolf<\/em>, <em>The Story of Babar<\/em>, <em>Tubby the Tuba<\/em>, and <em>Green Eggs and Ham<\/em>. His theatre credits include American Players Theatre, Delaware Theatre Company, Resident Ensemble Players (REP), Enchantment Theatre Company, First State Children\u2019s Theater Company, and the Utah and Baltimore Shakespeare Festivals. He is a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa and the Professional Theatre Training Program (PTTP) at the University of Delaware.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the concerts, immediately following each performance the Symphony will offer its popular Instrument Petting Zoo, in which children interact with the musicians and their instruments, <em>Peter and the Wolf<\/em> puzzles, activities, face painting and more!<\/p>\n<p>The concerts are free for all ages, general admission\u2014 no ticket is required.
