Sanderson Museum in Chadds Ford is expanding visitor hours.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>CHADDS FORD \u2014 The Christian C. Sanderson Museum is increasing its hours and will be open for visitors on Thursdays and Fridays from 12pm to 4pm, in addition to the same hours on Saturday and Sunday, March through November.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are pleased to be able to expand our hours so that more people will be able to see Chris\u2019 wonderful collection.\u201d said museum President Sue Minarchi.\u00a0 \u201cNow that we are open Thursday through Sunday, it will give visitors who want to visit during the week an opportunity to enjoy the museum.\u00a0 As always, we are delighted to welcome individuals or groups on other days of the week by appointment.\u201d<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Christian Carmack Sanderson was born into a historically minded family in Port Providence, Pennsylvania on January 7, 1882. A poplar blossom given to Chris by his grandfather was the beginning of a unique collection of art, historic relics, odd souvenirs, and keepsakes from everyday life. The historian, collector, teacher, musician, and friend to all died on November 19, 1966, but his collection lives on at the Sanderson Museum.<\/p>\n<p>The Sanderson Museum represents a man\u2019s life and a nation\u2019s history. It contains an eclectic array of art, military memorabilia, presidential artifacts, local history, and collectibles.\u00a0 Open March through November, Thursday through Sunday, 12pm to 4pm or by appointment. Visit the museum at 1755 Creek Road (old Route 100), Chadds Ford, just north of Route 1. Admission to the museum is $5 and free for children under 12 accompanied by an adult.
